Insurance

Out of network

Superbills provided for reimbursement through your plan’s out-of-network benefits.

Do you accept insurance?

Day One Therapy and Wellness is an out-of-network practice, which means payment is made directly at the time of service rather than billed to your insurer. Superbills are provided for every session so that clients with out-of-network benefits can seek reimbursement from their plan.

How do out-of-network benefits work?

If your policy includes out-of-network coverage, your insurer reimburses a portion of each session at your plan’s out-of-network rate. You pay $160 at the time of service, receive a superbill, and submit it to your insurer for reimbursement. If that process is unfamiliar, Dave will gladly walk you through it over the phone or in session — including what to ask your insurer and how to submit.

What should I ask my insurance company?

Call the member services number on your card and ask three things: whether your plan includes out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits, what percentage is reimbursed, and whether an out-of-network deductible applies and how much of it you’ve met.

Is there a sliding scale?

Yes. A limited number of reduced-fee slots are held for clients for whom the standard rate would be a barrier to care. Because the number of these spots is small, availability varies. If cost is a concern, raise it during the free phone consultation — Dave will talk it through with you directly and let you know what’s currently open. It’s a routine question and not an awkward one to ask.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Credit cards, debit cards, cash, checks, and Venmo are all accepted. Payment is collected at the time of service, and a superbill is provided afterward for clients seeking out-of-network reimbursement.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations require at least 24 hours’ notice. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice, or missed without notice, are charged the full session fee. Insurance does not reimburse missed sessions. Life happens, and if something genuinely unavoidable comes up, call and we’ll talk about it.
